Sydney Rock ‘n’ Roll & Alternative Market blasts into 2016 on Sunday February 7, at Manning Bar and House, Manning Road, University of Sydney. Featuring; a vast array of spectacular stalls, a massive record fair, swing dancing lessons, a classic and vintage vehicle display and a huge entertainment line-up with the Rumjacks, The Detonators and more. Part market, part music festival, part meeting place, it’s a place where you can have one of Sydney’s most unique shopping experiences and a fabulous day out.

Expect to find – Fashion Galore! Rock ‘n’ Roll, Alternative, Vintage, Handmade, and Unique Clothing for Men Women and Children, Jewellery, Accessories, Posters, Cult DVDs, Artwork, Homewares, Collectables, Retro Hair and Make-up stylists, plus more than 50,000 LPs and 45s covering Alternative, Punk, Metal, Rockabilly, Blues, Jazz, Country, Reggae, Club, Hip Hop and every other genre since the dawn of Rock ‘n’ Roll plus so much more.The Record Fair is presented by Revolve Records – Erskineville and Egg Records – Newtown.

The February 7 entertainment line-up features;

The Rumjacks The widely acclaimed Celtic punk rock of The Rumjacks mixing the raw storytelling of the Irish with the grit and honesty of street punk is not to be missed. With their own brand of “Rotgut & Roll” these five musical misfits from the cobbled streets of old Sydney town are a group unto themselves and the music they’ve made their own.

The Detonators – Australia’s high priests of Roots Rock ‘n’ Roll The Detonators with their lethal combination of rockabilly, blues and early rock ‘n’ roll have toured to all corners of Australia, played all major blues and roots festivals more than once and have ventured into Europe with their high powered original show. Dancing shoes and drinking arms are compulsory for any good time Detonators show.

Mother Truckers – Mother Truckers’ blend of raw rockabilly, stompin’ swamp and more takes you cruising down Route 66 and straight on to Vegas.

The Hellcat III – Since making their debut in February 2015, this group of seasoned musicians have performed in front of thousands of Rockabilly, Dance and Kustom Kulture enthusiasts throughout NSW offering an exciting blend of traditional, new and unique rockabilly music.

Plus DJs – Limpin’ Jimmy & the Swingin’ Kitten, Rod Almighty, The Crimplenes, and The Rockabilly Rhino. Plus MC – Limpin’ Jimmy.

Plus – A Swing Dancing Beginners Class – If you’ve always wanted to give Swing Dancing a try, there’ll be a class for beginners between 10.30 and 11.30am market. This is a Beginners Class, and no prior dance experience or dance partner is required. Class Cost is only $11 per person and includes market entry fee. Entry to the Sydney Rock ‘n’ Roll & Alternative Market is $6, with kids under 12 FREE. Nowhere else in Sydney offers this much bang for your buck.
