Acclaimed Icelandic quintet Of Monsters and Men will return to Australian shores in April and May for a run of East Coast dates, today adding a second and final Melbourne show at the Palais Theatre on Thursday 5th May. Tickets are on sale now.

Emerging local folktronica artist Gordi will support the enigmatic Of Monsters and Men on their Brisbane and

Melbourne dates. The 22 year-old songstress took 2015 by storm, securing high rotation across triple j for her debut single

‘Nothing’s As It Seems’, and now the gliding ‘Can We Work It Out’ – Listen here. Gordi’s seamless layered vocals, engaging on-stage presence and mature songwriting set her apart from other budding artists; Earthy guitar textures perfectly compliment Gordi’s rich vocal tone, all underpinned by delicate modern electronic production. In 2015, Gordi achieved a J Award nomination for Unearthed Artist of the Year, claimed the APRA Partnership Award which saw her partner with lauded local artist Josh Pyke, and hit the road with Ben Lee, Little May and Winterbourne.

Of Monsters and Men achieved colossal international success with the release of their 2012 debut album ‘My Head Is An Animal’, which has sold over 2.7 million copies worldwide and placed the band firmly at the top of the global music landscape. They have played at some of the world’s most eminent music festivals from Coachella, Glastonbury, Bonnaroo and Splendour In The Grass to Pukkelpop and Austin City Limits, and have sold out some of theatres in the US, including New York’s Beacon Theatre and LA’s Greek Theatre.

With a stunning new album, ‘Beneath The Skin’ now under their belts, Of Monsters and Men are due to continue their enchantment of Australia this April/May. Over the summer, the monstrous hooks of current single ‘Empire’ have been gaining traction on airwaves across the country, and with the band fresh from a slew of international dates the quintet will without doubt be ready and raring to enrapture local audiences with their famed live show.
