With his Australian tour kicking off in just under a month’s time, the Reverend Horton Heat has announced full details of the great Australian acts that will be opening the shows for the Godfather of Rockabilly this September/October.  As the man himself attests, Australia is a hotbed of rockabilly talent so the line-ups are going to be a rare treat for fans of true, old time rock n’ roll!

The main support at each show (excluding Hobart and Oakleigh) is Brisbane’s number 1 rockabilly export Pat Capocci.  Hard working and relentless determination are just two characteristics that can be attributed to Pat Capocci. Since forming nearly 10yrs ago, Pat Capocci has emerged as one of Australia’s most respected practitioners of Rockabilly and Roots music. Pat’s unique style and charisma combined with his natural song writing ability has seen the combo transcend the typical novelty of the genre. Pat’s writing style blends a unique feel of western swing, jazz, country and blues, and in the same way that all iconic artists have, Pat has used the genre as a launching pad, deepening and broadening the integrity and timelessness of the music.

In Brisbane Pat will be joined by Sunshine Coast rockers The Hi-Boys who have taken their souped up rock ‘n’ roll sounds not only across Australia, but across Europe and The U.S. to great acclaim, definitely a reason to make your way to the show early!  In Melbourne at the world famous Corner Hotel proceedings will be kicked off by long-time favourite local rock ‘n’ roll revivalists the Rechords.  At the second show at The Caravan Club in Oakleigh, The Rechords will be the main and only support.  In Adelaide big time vibes will be delivered by stalwart Schlockabilly rockers The Saucermen, these guys are disciples of all things Kustom Kulture and are sure to have the early crowd rockin’.  Tasmanian punters are in for a treat with Yesterday’s Gentlemen getting the party started with their “brown-suit-crumpled-hat-and-stained-tie inspired jazz and blues.  Luck last is Sydney, and lucky mainly because the openers in the Harbour City will be Lucky Luke, one of Sydney’s finest country and honkytonk singers!

Australian rockers this will be a chance to drink up and celebrate the fact that true rock ‘n’ roll is alive and well, and safe in the hands of some of its finest practitioners!
