Few things go as good together as say hockey and punk rock, now Ice Hockey may not be a high profile sport in Australia but we do have our own national competition with the AIHL and many rinks around the country have what is known as a beer league and the numbers of folks playing is only growing.

When you grow up in the frozen winters of Pittsburgh ice skating and playing hockey is as common as an Australian going to the beach. So in a recent pre tour interview with SCENEzine Chris 2 from Anti Flag mentioned he was looking forward to getting to play some Hockey down Under.  So we did some investigation and found out SCENEzine reader, Punk Rock Lover and Ice Hockey enthusiast Mike had gotten some guys together and with the support from the fellas from Cheapskate Hockey  invited Chris to play a friendly game down at the Ice Zoo in Alexandria

The day was a lot of fun with beers for us watching thanks to Young Henrys and a punk rock playlist amping us up. Chris played on both teams scoring the majority of goals for both sides with two assists from Mike, in the stands were his band mates cheering him on , I got to ask Chris how the guys compare to back home he said ‘some of these guys are pretty good’
