Detroit indie singer-songwriter Flint Eastwood (née Jax Anderson) has officially announced herself as a musical force in 2017 with the release of her new EP – Broke Royalty – out now.  The seven-track record is set to further solidify her reputation as one of the most exciting breakthrough artists of the year, thanks to the might of powerful and provocative singles like the EP’s lead track, ‘Queen’.

The EP’s strength isn’t limited solely to ‘Queen’ either – the genre defying record takes a myriad of twists and turns through each of its tracks in a way that highlights not only Anderson’s eclectic taste, but her uncanny ability to take that range of influence and marry it into a seamless mix. Other big stand outs include the hip hop and EDM driven, ‘Push,’ the bouncy pop of ‘Rewind,’ and the stunningly anthemic ‘Assemble Kids’ – each possessing their own unique flavour, but all tied by a deep and shadowy presence thanks to Anderson’s involvement in every level of writing and production.

All in all Broke Royalty is an EP that is sure to lead fans to discover not only the brilliant work of a new artist in Flint Eastwood and her unique perspective, but it’s also set to establish Anderson as one of a growing list of artists restoring Detroit to its former artistic glory. And with records like this on our hands, that time seems like it’s much closer than many of us would have ever imagined.
