Brisbane-based pop-punk quartet Waxflower have just revealed the exquisite accompanying video for their new single ‘Back To Back’ – shot, directed, and edited by the band’s guitarist Nick Hargans on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

The video clip shows the band performing the song while lead singer Tristan Higginson is seen in a series of interesting situations, such as lying fully clothed in a cold bath tub filled with rose petals, to encapsulate the lyrical content of the track. The clip features a combination of interesting production techniques, including using a fish tank to lower a camera underwater for select shots.

Higginson talks about the making of the clip:

“The video concept plays on the themes of all-encompassing anxiety established in the song. Visual hints at drowning and being out of your depth are used throughout the clip. The video was filmed in the middle of winter, and after both underwater shots, I’ve never been as cold as I was in that pool.”

Over the last month, the band has supported Greyscale Records heavyweights Belle Haven, pop punk behemoths Yours Truly, and played a sold-out East Coast run of shows with Sydney-based crowd favourites The Dead Love.
