Award-winning South African/NZ comedian, URZILA CARLSON, is fast becoming one of our much-loved Kiwi imports and returns to Australia in 2017 with a brand new hour of stand-up.
A regular panelist on Network Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention?, Carlson will perform the Australian debut of her new show, Unacceptable, at Brisbane Comedy Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival and Perth Comedy Festival from March to May.
Tickets for all shows go on sale today, Monday November 21.
More than happy to call a spade a spade, Carlson’s new show explores when it became unacceptable to like meat and impossible to process gluten. And why isn’t it okay to call people out when they’re being assholes? You don’t need to like the latest hipster indie banjo band just because everyone’s saying they do. It’s actually okay to think they’re shit – you’re not alone.
Urzila regularly sells out her live shows in NZ, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth, and has been seen on Network Ten’s annual Melbourne International Comedy Festival Oxfam Gala and The Great Debate when in Australia. Her first book, a memoir entitled Rolling with the Punchlines, has just been released through Allen & Unwin.
