Up In The Airlock is a new initiative from Ian Haug (Powderfinger, the church) Airlock Studios and Method To My Madness (MTMM) to showcase great Australian acts in a format that captures the intimacy, personality and technicalities often missed at a live show. Originally planned for later in the year, the project was brought forward in light of the devastating effect COVID-19 has had on the Australian music community and also acts as a fundraiser for the artists and crew with proceeds collected via the Up In the Airlock website. The first episode of the series, launched last week, showcased ELKO FIELDS, another local favourite.

Speaking about The Jensens session, Ian said: “this week we’ve got a special one for everyone to see. [The Jensens were] our ‘guinea pigs’ for the pilot project. They came in, played like demons and blew our minds.” The band played a long set so the team are planning to release it in two parts with the second installment coming next week. The Jensens said it was a huge privilege to be the first band to record a live set for Up In The Airlock. “Airlock (Studios) is easily one of our favourite studios in Brisbane: from the scenic drive up there, to the treasure chest of vintage gear and the elegant recording rooms, you get the sense you’re in a space that’s world-class.”
