One way to set the bar high early on in your musical career, is to name your band after an Ernest Hemingway novel; if you can’t make an impact and follow it with dramatic highs and lows, you risk leaving the reader underwhelmed. Maryland based The Dangerous Summer have done anything but underwhelm since first hitting the scene ten years ago with their debut album Reach For The Sun, and now the band finally has their sights on the Australian summer to celebrate ten years under the sun. The three piece will be heading down the Australian coastline for the very first time this December, playing their debut album in full, as well as choice cuts from their latest album Mother Nature.

Fans and critics alike both instantly connected deeply with vocalist AJ Perdomo‘s unflinchingly honest and self analytical lyrics in Reach For The Sun. With lines such as:

The lyricist shows he wasn’t scared of change, but ready to meet it head on, and that growth lead to a fire, one that spread throughout the band’s career. While some fans feared this fire almost flickered out, the band has come back blazing with their latest release Mother Nature.
