THE ART’s latest abstract has arrived in the form of the official music video for their latest single, Thinking About The Universe, shot by The Media Collective (Producer Sze Wun Lau, Director Tanzeal Rahim, and DOP Andrew Grant) in Sydney recently, as the band prepare for their upcoming East Coast tour of the same name, in support of their latest album, All in the Mind.

Getting set for shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide, kicking off this Friday night, Azaria Byrne reflects on the making of the video.

“The Media Collective was really professional and so sharp with their planning that I just got to walk around making jokes keeping peoples spirits high. I also got to keep the 5-metre trampoline we used for just one out of space shot in the shoot. It takes up my whole backyard and now has a pentagram painted on it. I sit in the centre of it in the middle of the night and meditate.”

He continues, “I was really excited and couldn’t sleep before both days of filming. Even though there is a pattern within chaos and reoccurring patterns within chaos, we keep the whole concept abstract and gestural. I mean who the hell has seen a unicorn play for The Art before?”

Thinking About The Universe, written by Azaria Byrne, is about being in another dimension while surrounded by murmurs of the mundane, with a brattish retaliation to wasted words and dross. Known for their pandemonium and anthemic songwriting, The Art deliver their honest and expressive lyricism with a sonic diversity that always leaves their live audience wanting more and more – and is anything but mundane.
