Newcastle’s raucous garage-punk purveyors Split Feed return today with anthemic thumper ‘Trinkets‘, arriving alongside iconic visuals and news of their forthcoming second EP, Second Skin

A pertinent reminder of the band’s ability to combine hard-hitting, infectious melodies with poignant lyricism, ‘Trinkets’ explores the curious power inanimate objects can hold as physical reminders of past relationships. Split Feed vocalist and guitarist Joe Willis explains, “I have a little souvenir that I got when I was overseas a while ago during a past relationship that brings back positive but also negative memories. This song sort of adopts a tug of war motif, I’m wanting to let go of some of these memories that are aroused from this souvenir but there are some memories that keep me from throwing it away.”

Directed by Dave Fulham, the track’s accompanying music video highlights Split Feed’s pursuit of the perfect balance between light and dark, and finds the band as down-and-out 80’s glam rock stars as they reminisce about their glory days.
