Following on from their critically praised second single ‘(Shit) Love Story’, Sydney-based pop-punk quintet SoSo have returned with the accompanying video clip – shot and directed by Pete O’Dowd from Mega Media TV (RedHook).

Shot at the band’s share house, affectionally known as ’The Shit Shack’, a majority of the clip was filmed in one shot, with each set piece being precisely prepared. The filming process included using slow-fast speed-up effects, with the band performing the track at both 1.5 times and 0.75 times the original speed. Lead singer Rhys de Burgh also mentioning – “The real MVP is our good friend Vareso, who spent take after take in the fridge.”

Rhys talks about the inspiration behind the clip:

“The video perfectly encapsulates what it’s like to be a musician in 2020 – torn between wanting to nurture your creative passion & having to hold down a day job. Throughout the video, I’m being drawn back into playing with the band and I finally cave. That balancing act between real world vs. your true vision is tough, it’s seen me say goodbye to relationships (i.e. the same relationship ‘(Shit) Love Story’ is about), friendships and opportunities elsewhere. But in the end, I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

‘(Shit) Love Story’ is available worldwide now
