SOAP returns with the most advanced track of their short careers and cements their rise as one of Brisbane’s premier bands with the announcement of their debut EP.

Returning with gripping single ‘Ethereal’, SOAP heads up the new wave of stylistic alternative rock and roll that is engulfing Australia’s east coast, elevating themselves to the frontline of Brisbane’s music scene.

Since returning from pandemic restrictions within QLD, SOAP has played to sold-out shows all across Brisbane. Becoming a staple for the cities live circuit, their fan base is growing rapidly and their demand to perform is ever rising. Taking on that challenge lead guitarist Matt Norrish explains:

“We probably didn’t use to look too much into performance prior to covid. Now we really pride ourselves on making our live shows a showcase and something that can be remembered. Not just some guys playing instruments on a stage.”

Speaking on the single and going into a bit of detail with the music video, lead singer Tom Megalos says:

“Ethereal is one of the oldest songs out of our EP batch. Its inception came through the “dubby” verse bassline and the song was created from the viewpoint of how a hip hop group like Gorillaz or a tribe called quest would attack an alt-rock tune. “I think the song reflects the darker and more cerebral side of our writing. In the music video, we wanted to portray the sense of isolation in the song and finding power in your own loneliness. Through the unnerving and camp lense of a killer mime”

Join the masses as SOAP march towards their debut EP out on July 23rd, with an east coast tour in the making set to be announced soon after.
