Second Act see’s Jennifer Lopez play the role of Maya a disheartened 40 year old who wishes she had of achieved more in her career life. After a resume spruce up without her knowledge Maya finds herself landing her dream job. Helping her prove although she doesn’t have a college degree her street smarts are sometimes just as valuable.   

Jennifer Lopez shines on screen and steals every scene she’s in. Supporting roles from familiar faces like Leah Remini and Vanessa Hudgens help to give the movie a sense of family. The city of New York itself is another star of the film providing an iconic backdrop.   

The movie is a light hearted and empowering look at second chances in life. So if you are a fan of J Lo or just want some pure escapism filled with a little comedy and drama than this is for you. The Blu-Ray version also features a look into the making of the film and interviews with the cast. Jenny from the block as Maya from Queens will have you believing in the power of second chances.
