2022 was a year that gave us many reasons to head back to the cinemas. From long anticipated movies finally being released to unexpected favourites. Here’s our top 10 movies of 2022 –
- ELVIS – We couldn’t help falling in love with Austin Butler’s performance. Baz Luhrmann’s king size Elvis Presley biopic had us all shook up.
2. Top Gun : Maverick – Tom cruised back into the role of Maverick, feeling the need for speed. Proving once again to come out on top it’s not about the plane, it’s the pilot.
3. The Batman – Rob Pattinson gave a dark gritty performance as Batman. This super-noir take on gotham was trenched in realism that packed a punch.
4. Scream – The Scream franchise gave us a killer fifth installment. A stabby, horrific film that harked all the way back to the original.
5. Everything Everywhere All At Once – An unexpected yet mind blowing film. From brilliant acting to stunning visuals this movie really did have everything.
6. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – A darker take on the marvel cinema universe that explored new dimensions. Making for a strange and sometimes evil thrill ride.
7. Thor : Love and Thunder – Chris Hemsworth returned to his signature role as Thor. The movie provided plenty of action and enough laughs to make this a fun edition to the MCU.
8. The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent – Who better to play Nic Cage in a movie than Nicolas Cage? It’s a smart, funny film that pays homage to the talented national treasure.
9. Avatar : The Way of Water – James Cameron took us back into a world of pure immersive escapism. A worthy and epic sequel wetting our appetite for more from the franchise.
10. Black Panther : Wakanda Forever – A moving goodbye for a beloved character. An emotional and soulful MCU addition about a family’s legacy.
