2016 was another year full of Hollywood blockbusters hitting our cinemas. The year gave us many hits and also many forgettable misses. We give our verdict by compiling our Top 10 movies of 2016 –

1. STAR WARS : ROGUE ONE
Expectations for this one were definitely high as Force Awakens raised the bar in 2015. Luckily expectations were met and truly exceeded by this brilliant addiction to the star wars universe.

2. REVENANT
The film that would finally see Leonardo DiCaprio win an Oscar. His performance was truly great but the film also used stunning landscapes to immerse you into the gripping story.

3. DEADPOOL
The movie that Ryan Renyolds was born to make gave us a hilarious, action packed new take on the comic book film genre.

4. CAPTAIN AMERICA : CIVIL WAR
A movie that was full of action, one liners and moral questions. This movie had so many characters featured that it almost could of been another Avengers film.

5. SUICIDE SQUAD
This highly anticipated film introduced us to a group of anti-heroes. Australia’s Margot Robbie was mesmerising as Harley Quinn. While Jared Leto gave us a fresh new take on the role of Joker.

6. DOCTOR STRANGE
Marvel brought to life the world of Doctor Strange in this mind bending action thrill ride.

7. THE HATEFUL EIGHT
Tarantino has become a genre all of his own. This movie pitted the likes of Samuel L Jackson, Kurt Russell and Michael Madsen against each other in a snow filled western violent thriller.

8. STAR TREK BEYOND
Another great movie in the Star Trek re-boot of the franchise. Tons of action plus Anton Yelchin delivers a brilliant performance it what would be one of his final films.

9. SAUSAGE PARTY
This hilarious animated adult feature is full of Seth Rogen’s style of humour. It’s both obscene yet imaginative.

10. X-MEN : APOCALYPSE
Another worthy addiction to the X-MEN franchise. Action a plenty and some stunning visuals help to bring this comic book film to life.
