Sydney-based alternative-rock band RedHook have just revealed a wild and personality-fuelled new music video for their single ‘Fake’ – shot, directed, and edited by D.O. Blackley (Her Name Is Murder Productions).

Matching the intensity of the song itself, the chaotic clip is a visual assault of colourful scenes and abrupt transitions, featuring band members Emmy MackCraig Wilkinson, and Alex Powys performing in front of a riot of green screen graphics. The video is a gesture to the deception and deceit of its own procedure, featuring a combination of quirky production techniques, including the use of old school camcorders.

Lead singer Emmy Mack talks about the making of the clip:

“In keeping with the whole vibe of the song ‘Fake’, we wanted to create a clip that was visually bonkers, but which also constantly drew attention to itself as a music video, highlighting the artifice of the whole process. We basically just went ham with a green screen, snow machine and pretty much anything else we could get our hands on!”

‘Fake’ is available worldwide now
