Newcastle pop-punk outfit PSTCRDS teased a fresh new single, “Inside Your Head“, earlier in the week in preparation for the release of their brand new two-track, ‘System Overload‘, streaming everywhere today.

“Inside Your Head” is the leading single from ‘System Overload’, and is accompanied by the anthemic offering, “Good For Nothing“. Both cut from the same cloth sonically with their thrashing emo pop punk sound.

“Inside Your Head” narrates the internal monologue when trying to understand a troubled brain space and coming to terms with mental health struggles, “Good For Nothing” follows the process of acknowledging a toxic and manipulative relationship, its subsequent breakdown and the feelings that follow the separation. Both tracks encapsulate themes of emotional self awareness and overcoming hard times.

‘System Overload’ is the bands second extended-release, following last year’s EP ‘This Place or Our Pace‘. The two-track acts as a sampler of sorts, showcasing a shift in sound going forward. “The initial idea for a two-track came from the five of us talking about how shorter demos aren’t really something bands do anymore, so it would be cool to do something a little bit different.” says vocalist Steven Reid.

As people will hear with the tracks, we’re kind of moving to a slightly different sound in future, so this two-track works well as a ‘transition’, a release to ease into a different direction and style.”

PSTCRDS are looking forward to flaunting their upgraded sound to a live audience soon. In the meantime, ‘System Overload’ is available now, streaming everywhere!
