Today, Australia’s pub-punk malcontents Private Function have released their highly anticipated second LP, Whose Line Is It Anyway? and the album’s neck-breaking third single, ‘Sleep Paralysis’, a horror-punk adrenaline hit written throughout the ominous 2020 bushfire season. To celebrate, the band have announced their most audacious competition to date – the special Record Store Day contest, ‘Win A Weekend Getaway with Private Function’.

The competition, held this Saturday 29 August and open to all Australian residents, gives punters who buy the new album from any indie record store in the country the chance to win an utterly unpredictable and undoubtedly debaucherous getaway anywhere in Australia the band decide to take you.

Snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef? Surfing at Bells Beach? A crocodile tour along the Adelaide River? An all-expenses paid stay at the Coburg Motor Inn? The getaway will be so spontaneous, the band don’t even know where they’re going yet. Rest assured, wherever in Australia you end up, it’ll be a weekend you’ll likely forget.

To enter, all punters need to do is buy the new record this Saturday from an indie record store and email the band a copy of the receipt to privatefunctiongetaway@gmail.com. It’s that easy.

In the meantime, Private Function‘s new LP, Whose Line Is It Anyway? is out now via all good record stores and streaming services. Dig in.
