Manchester indie-pop band Pale Waves are currently on an Australian headline tour. With the tour in support of their recently released third album Unwanted, tonight we are headed along to the Metro Theatre in Sydney to catch the last date of the tour.

From the opening track ‘Lies’ the energy emitting from Pale Waves on stage was infectious. Vocalist Heather Baron-Gracie had the whole crowd swooning over her goth style and powerful vocals. Drummer Ciara provided the relentless beats all night, while guitarists Hugo and Charlie were full of charisma, bringing the groove to the set.

During the night, the band delved all the way back to their first album delivering us tracks like ‘Eighteen’ and ‘There’s A Honey’. Bass player, Charlie Wood, even caved in to the audiences peer pressure doing a reluctant shoey onstage. As an exuberant fan yelled “fuck yeah pale waves”!

The main set closed out with ‘Unwanted’, taken from their newest album of the same name. Although, it wasn’t long until they returned to the stage for an encore featuring firstly ‘She’s My Religion’. Heather then followed by asking the audience “are you the jealous type?” before leading into the final song of the night, ‘Jealousy’. Tonight felt like a euphoric Television Romance, with Pale Waves providing the quintessential soundtrack.
