As they move ever closer to the release of their debut album, YOUNG (Out April 21 via Create/Control), NYC’s Overcoats continue to deliver stunning new music in its lead up, with the release today of the new track ‘Kai’s Song.’ The introspective song sees members Hana Elion and JJ Mitchell reflecting on the small daily changes that can add up to make someone almost unrecognisable.

Co-produced by Nicolas Vernhes (The War On Drugs, Dirty Projectors) and Autre Ne Veut, YOUNG is a story about growing up told through the lens of two women who are wise beyond their years.

Having just wrapped a run of dates supporting Maggie Rogers in the US, the duo is charging towards the release of YOUNG, which has earned early praise from Gorilla vs. Bear and NPR’s Bob Boilen who said, “the deep friendship between Hana Elion and JJ Mitchell comes across in their vibrant harmonies and the bountiful dance parties that pop up as they go.”

In fact, the duo has had an enduring love affair with not only the critics that work for NPR but also their listeners, having been voted #3 in their listener poll of Favourite New Artists of 2016, as well as recently heading to the broadcaster’s Washington D.C. studios to perform a coveted Tiny Desk Concert.
