Launching in April, Up in The Airlock (UITA) is a live in the studio performance series recorded and filmed at Ian Haug’s (Powderfinger, the church) Airlock Studios. These sessions will showcase both local and national acts performing a 15-45 min set in a studio environment that captures the intimacy, personality and technicalities often missed at a live show. Each session will be released on YouTube and be accompanied by exclusive behind the scenes footage and interviews shot at the studio.

Due to the devastating effect of COVID-19 on the Australian Entertainment business, the team decided to push forward the launch of UITA to accommodate more live sessions for artists unable to play shows and help support our local Brisbane artists and crew.

Up In The Airlock will launch in April with two sessions to go live. The first one will be from Brisbane rockers WAAX. Kicking off with “The Quarantine Sessions”, UITA offers Australian artists a platform where they can perform to their fans during this period of cancelled shows and festivals via a pre-recorded live performance. Viewers will have the option to donate funds which go directly to the artists and crew. This initial ‘Quarantine Sessions’ campaign will run for three months to help support the greater Brisbane Entertainment community though these uncertain times.

The first session will go live with WAAX in early April. To keep across the launch, subscribe to Up In The Airlock’s YouTube channel and sign up to the mailing list via the official website.
