Fostering influences from the likes of You Me at Six, Foo Fighters, Incubus and Paramore, five-piece alternative rock band Our City Fires may be a relatively fresh face on the UK’s music scene (having formed only in 2018), but the Leicester lads are keen to make their mark in the new year

As such, the quintet are thrilled to confirm the artwork and release date of their forthcoming EP, entitled ‘Foundations’, which is set for release on 28th February 2020.

On their forthcoming EP, Our City Fires vocalist Danny Richardson comments:

‘We completely changed our writing technique after our debut EP, it’s far more organic now, and more true to ourselves. This is something we could only achieve by working together on every single aspect of our sound and style.”

“Each one of us has helped to refine what we started in 2018, and we’ve put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into the making of ‘Foundations’. We think people will take a lot of positive changes from it, and we can’t wait to share it with you very soon!”

Introducing their newly-refined style with a break-up song, Our City Fires’ forthcoming EP mixes positive messages of solidarity with straight-from-the-heart advice from Richardson’s personal diary, while simultaneously taking time to consider the real-world struggles faced by ranaway teens. If there is one thing the quintet’s latest release can be described as, it is highly relatable.

Complementing the announcement of their forthcoming EP, Our City Fires have also confirmed details of an early 2020 performance with Essex-based rock icons InMe in their hometown, plus a further UK tour with St Albans rockers Alexis Kings. Tour dates can be found below.
