Brutal vocals and soaring melodies combining over ambient soundscapes and intricate riffing, Shepherd’s debut ‘Prisoners’ is the bands first impression and it’s a firm first foot forward.

Hailing from Melbourne, Shepherd quickly put themselves on the map after securing a victory at Destroy All Lines’ hotly contested Battle Of The Bands 2017 and participating in Music Victoria’s GRID Series.

Prisoners sees Shepherd combined their love of heavy music, catchy hooks and a song with personal meaning. :”This song lyrically speaks about being a prisoner in a metaphorical sense” says the band’s vocalist Ben Jevanath. “The first half of the song touches on inner turmoil of an individual as they struggle to overcome immoral practice. The second half portrays and individual who is held captive by their past” Prisoner’s was recorded and mixed by ‘SPD Audio with mastering by Ermin Hamidovic of Periphery/Architects fame.
