Thousands of Sydney carnivores made their way to the Sydney showground for Meatstock on Friday night. We headed along to check all the action of the mainstage.

First on stage was Caitlin Harnett and the ponyboys. They brought the country twang providing laid back tunes as the sun set and the beers were flowing.

Next was a short break that gave people time to try some of the delicious BBQ on offer. Then Perth alternative rockers Jebediah burst onto stage. Starting things off with their song “lino”. Followed up by a set including many fan favourites like “animal” and “leaving home”. Things slowed down with a heartfelt singalong for “harpoon”. Finishing with the high energy “jerks of attention” and “teflon” as flames shot into the air from the stage for the last song.

The crowd grew in size awaiting the headliner to begin. Grinspoon kicked off with “DCX3” which immediately had a mosh pit down front. The flames returned for “lost control” and Phil brought out a megaphone for “American party bomb”. “Just Ace” had the whole crowd jumping and “chemical heart’ provided the biggest singalong of the night. The set ended with the hard hitting “champion” and angst driven “more than you are” as confetti cannons shot from the stage.

Meatstock Sydney put on a memorable event on Friday night. Mouth watering meat combined with a flaming hot rock show had everybody grinning.
