Having premiered their new single ‘Cut Me’ the Alice Springs duo Karnage and Darknis (better known as KnD) share this powerful single from their forthcoming album.
KND’s lyrics often involve Aboriginal land rights, social issues and everyday struggle where as ‘Cut Me’ focuses on the cycle of domestic violence. Lending itself to a more traditional boom bap production, the single breaks through with clean drums and a strong focus on a classic brass section and tasteful flourishes.
The track also features the serene vocals of Indigenous singer/songwriter Kristal West, who has also recently released a track as an ode to her grandfather and storied Australian land rights activist, Eddie Mabo.
