Meet NEW LANGUAGE – a new project out of Los Angeles that formed in April 2015 with Tyler Demorest (guitar/vocals), Matt Cohen (bassist) and features Tony Hajjar (drums/producer – At The Drive In/Sparta) writing songs in a remote Los Angeles studio.

The entire result of the sessions was an album that will be unearthed very soon, but Wake Up is the first morsel from it. The cherry on top of this amazing news is that they will debut the live show on April 27th at Hollywood’s The Dragonfly supporting Metal/Rock Supergroup GONE IS GONE, whose ranks include members of Queens of the Stone Age, Mastodon and At The Drive In.

With Tony Hajjar (known for his drumming work in At The Drive-In / Sparta) about to announce his band’s world tour and reunion, the sessions were direct, focused, and effective. Demorest and Cohen began in earnest, chipping away at the new songs, initially intended to be a 3-4 track E.P.

After first working together in 2013, they decided to join forces and create this new project. Intentions of creating an E.P. quickly turned into a full length album.

“Wake Up” is the first song released by NEW LANGUAGE, and the first song written together by the band. It’s “…a call to action, a plea to snap out of the current haze of cultural monotony we’ve all come to expect and many have come to embrace.”

That brings us to now – about a year later, and NEW LANGUAGE is ready to hit your eardrums.

Oh, and by the way, the skeleton’s name is Richard.
