Following the release of three album singles (‘We Will’, ‘Flicker’ and ‘What’s The Catch?’), Australian progressive quartet Hemina have now released their fourth studio album ‘Night Echoes’!

Once described as “a unique combination of hard hitting syncopated grooves, lush synth backwashes, multi-part vocal harmonies, blistering memorable leads with a focus on songwriting and emotion”, the aural adventures created by Hemina seek to defy any preconceived expectations of modern progressive metal. In their latest studio offering, Hemina may well have achieved all that and much, much more.

‘Night Echoes’ continues the conceptual arc explored in prevous albums adding a new chapter to the story. Assuming focus on the child born within the band’s previous stories, ‘Night Echoes’ takes place approximately 10 years after the suicide of the now-adolescent protagonist’s father, as he picks up the pieces of the life that has been made for him. Despite the best intentions of his father and the incurable hunger to build a better life for him and his family.

On the release of ‘Night Echoes’, guitarist and vocalist Mitch Coull comments:

“Although this album is very Hemina, we are treading new waters adding new elements to our sound – from 80’s synth soundscapes to 90’s soul and pop. We’re still keeping our fundamental sound, of course, so the grooving metal, monster melodies and syncopated riffage are all still present for returning fans.”

“The standout tracks to support this claim are ones such as ‘The Only Way’, which blends that 90’s rock sound within the progressions and ‘One Short’ with that pure soul emphasis. One might say it’s a departure from the sounds of Venus but, at the very essence of it all, the grooving metal is still there.”

‘Night Echoes’ is available to stream and purchase now via BandcampiTunes and Spotify
