Following the release of the idiosyncratic, psychedelic video for current single ‘Season 2, Episode 3’ Glass Animals today release the highly addictive corresponding video game. You can play the game here. The track’s Nintendo 64-style blips and skittish 8-bit beat perfectly soundtrack the game, combining to create something deliciously nostalgic and transporting the player into the mind of the song’s protagonist with retro arcade-style graphics.

Lead singer Dave Bayley explains: “S02E03 is about someone who sits around all day playing video games, web shopping, feasting on Netflix and delivered food between cigarettes. Thats what you hear in the song…tvs going on and off,  sounds that reference our fave video games, effects that were made to sound like they were off cartoon network, wavy lazy vibrato on everything…etc. The video was meant to visualize that, and what happens when you spend too much time on a computer and you try to hit ‘undo’ when you drop your chicken nugget, or when you watch too much stranger things and you start to think you can maybe move things with your mind. The main character’s life turns into a video game…and now you can play that game! You can throw the skateboard you’ve never really used, you can play with your food, you can attack your mad neighbour who makes too much noise doing what you can only imagine is building some kind of jet pack. But mainly you can get points. My high score so far is 3,109. If you can beat me let me know. Ok i’m going to try to top it, bye.
