Future Popes have announced they’ll be taking over The Grace Darling’s bandroom bookings!

The venue, an institution in it’s own right, has been the launching pad to a number of now high profile artists across the years; The Gooch Palms played to sweaty packed crowd in the basement; King Gizzard launched their first ever EP in the bandroom; Ceres hosted their very first annual xmas show within these walls; while more recently, Terry and Ausmuteants opened and closed the venue’s summer Sunday sessions.

Future Popes looks to continue the excellent work of outgoing booker, John Waddell as he makes the move to New Zealand.

The 180 capacity bandroom will undergo an upgrade, while the venue takes a greener approach; the bar will drastically cut back on straws and slowly transfer to only Australian beer with a strong focus on Victorian, while the roof is being measured for solar panels and the restaurant moves to serve only locally and ethically sourced produce as well as composting it’s waste and leftovers.

For Future Popes, this move into venue booking isn’t a move away from music PR or international touring, however it highlights the evolution of the company following three years of operation.
