The Christmas season is always soundtracked by those classics that get rolled out every year, but one brave, daring Australian band wants to change all of that. Furnace and the Fundamentals are setting out to give your Christmas playlists a facelift and are doing it one festive cover at a time with their seasonal album, A Very Furnace Christmas out on vinyl and digital today! Screw Mariah. Screw Buble. And Robbie Williams will soon be relegated to the Christmas past. Furnace is here to stay!

Flipping classic songs like ‘YMCA’ or Sweet Caroline’ into Christmas bangers, A Very Furnace Christmas is the ultimate addition for this year’s festive season. No genre is left un-Christmasified either, with Yuletide spins on ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ and ‘Killing In The Name Of’ also included, providing something for everyone this Christmas.

‘Santa actually called us and said ‘I need some new tunes on the Spotify playlist for my sled and I never get to listen to any real music, I’m only allowed Christmas songs, so maybe you guys could send me my favourite songs with Christmas lyrics?’ – Of course, how could we say no? In return he said he’ll come down to Sydney every year to party with us at our Xmas shows.’

Furnace and the Fundamentals are celebrating the release of A Very Furnace Christmas in true Furnace style with two completely sold out, back-to-back Christmas parties at Sydney’s Oxford Arts Factory. Promising to be as raucous as ever, those lucky enough to nab limited tickets will be treated to a first class Furnace show, raffle prizes, photos with Santa himself and so much more.

These shows are the cherries on top of an enormous year for Furnace and the Fundamentals, both at home and abroad. 2019 saw them sell out Sydney’s Enmore Theatre with their raucous ‘Furnapalooza’ show, play to over 20,000 at the British Grand Prix in Silverstone and a whole stack of festivals and clubs across the UK and Europe.

With even more surprises and parties up their sleeves, “humanity’s best party band” is going into 2020 louder and more energetic than ever.

A Very Furnace Christmas is out now on vinyl and digitally.
