Sydney-based indie-punk quartet Down For Tomorrow have just revealed their fervent new single ‘Emily’ – produced and mixed by Stevie Knight (Stand AtlanticYours TrulyThe Dead Love).

‘Emily’ opens with resounding drums and lightly distorted guitars, as frontman Cody Stebbings’ vigorous vocals swiftly follow. The song builds and launches into a head-banging chorus, guided by a melody soaked in angst and conviction, with the band’s raw emotion apprehending the darker features in their music.

Stebbings talks about the influence behind ‘Emily’:

“‘Emily’ is about a negative interstate experience full of miscommunication, unrequited feelings, and both parties in the wrong. The song is fuelled with denial and confusion, due to how hard it is to outrun and overcome our mistakes and mishaps. I guess we learn from them one way or another. In most cases for me, it’s the hard way.”

Once quarantine has passed, Down For Tomorrow will continue their plans of playing extensively across the East-Coast and releasing more new music.
