Following the recent announce of their fifth studio album ‘Five’ (stylised as |||||), Sydney’sDappled Cities have revealed the accompanying video clip for new single ‘Stone Men’ – the second track from their upcoming record.
Produced by Chris Hocking of LateNite Films and directed by both Daniel and Jared Daperis, the video clip stars actor Lee Mason in an impassioned role that highlights the song’s distressed subject matter. Dappled Cities’ Tim Derricourt explains;
“For ‘Stone Men’, we wanted something still and peaceful but troubling at the same time. Jared’s clip perfectly captures these qualities but manages to tap into the message of turmoil and frustration that lies at the heart of the song’s lyrics. The image of a man, trapped in his own world and afraid of what might be out there, mirrors perfectly the emotions behind the song without being too literal. When his world crumbles around him (to the tune of a blasting saxophone and guitar duel), you really get that sense of a life interrupted, maybe for the better.”
The band will perform three shows to celebrate the release of their fifth studio album ‘Five’, with dates confirmed at Howler in Melbourneon Saturday May 6, The Foundry inBrisbaneon Friday May 12and a very special Sydney date, to be announced soon.
