CAMP COPE are thrilled to announce national dates for their album tour in March 2018 with friends and special guests Chastity Belt (USA). Hitting much loved venues in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, Bulli and Sydney, they will be playing from their forthcoming sophomore album How To Socialise & Make Friends live around the country for the very first time.
Tickets to Camp Cope’s album tour are on sale 9:00am (local) Thursday 14 December – full ticketing details are listed below.
Joining Camp Cope on their album tour is Chastity Belt, all the way from the United States. The two bands met on Chastity Belt’s last Australian tour earlier this year and became fast friends after a late-night conversation and a surprise instore at Vinyl in Fitzroy two days later. Formed in Seattle in 2010, Chastity Belt released their acclaimed third album I Used to Spend So Much Time Alone in June, which SPIN called “remarkably natural and invigorating,” with Drowned In Sound noting the album “is pretty in its sonic gloominess and witty in the way that it wears its anxieties on its sleeve, but what makes it special is the way that all of that is grounded by the sturdiest of anchors – the quiet optimism that friendship inspires.”
Camp Cope’s forthcoming sophomore album How To Socialise & Make Friends anchors on the cycles of life, loss and growth through resilience and those moments of finding and being yourself. It celebrates the joys of being an independent unit and knowing who you are without any influence from external factors, and non-romantic love felt towards friends; the women who shape you and women working together to find strength in numbers. A raw account of sexual assault and the feelings of isolation that follow is painted, while the album closer shows Georgia solo, singing of her late father’s battle with cancer and their close friendship that prevails, even in death.
How To Socialise & Make Friends (LP) is out March 2 and is available to pre-order now.
