With tickets flying out the door to their upcoming national tour in support of new single ‘Diamond’, Brissy’s Bugs are today stoked to be sharing the comical, chaotic music video for the release, which premiered via triple j Unearthed on Friday.

Following the track’s theme, the clip dissects status and greed in capitalist society through a tongue-in-cheek lens, comically depicting competitive materialism and vanity, resulting in the inevitable fallout of always wanting more.

“The clip was shot over the course of a 10 hour day in a prop warehouse,”  says frontman Connor Brooker. “We wanted to poke fun at the whole status-based and ego-driven personalities the song talks about. We decided to blend it with a few classic ‘Boy Band’ looks from our childhood, we actually learnt a whole choreographed dance on the day too. It was so much fun, my knees are bruised still weeks later, but it was all totally worth the end result. Hope it makes you laugh or smile!!! That’s the goal!”

To celebrate the release of ‘Diamond’, Bugs will be joined by Unearthed High winners Teenage Joans and fellow Brisbane mates Melaleuca on their recently announced national single tour. Melbourne’s show at The Corner has already sold out, with a second show announced, and remaining cities selling fast.
