Melbourne’s best kept secret is out today, with the release of Bad Juju’s debut EP ‘Hidden Desire’. The punk five-piece will celebrate the release tonight with an intimate show with Trophy Eyes at The Workers Club in Melbourne. Next month Bad Juju will play a run of headline dates in Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide.

The six-track, punch-packing release includes Triple J favourite ‘Moving On’ as well as previous singles ‘Bloom’ and ‘Run Away’. Triple J’s Richard Kingsmill has openly praised the release, offering up a 4.5 star review of the current single and stating “Just previewed their whole EP coming in July. Get excited.”

Three new tracks compliment the storyline, with the band explaining “Hidden Desire explores how people deal with loss, anxiety, and depression, but moves into pushing these issues aside and trying to change our lives for the better, thinking positively going forward.”

The band have worked tirelessly to create a record that tackles the ever-present issue of mental illness, from a slightly different perspective to most.

“The record is themed around the idea that you can never truly know what is happening inside another person’s head,” says the band. “They can seem fine on the outside and hide their true self.“

Bad Juju have also been busy honing their live show, sharing stages with the likes of Dream On Dreamer, Trophy Eyes, Columbus, and The Beautiful Monument to name a few.

Now, the release of their highly anticipated debut EP ‘Hidden Desire’ serves as another bold step in the right direction for Bad Juju, cementing their place in Australian punk rock music amongst the likes of Dear Seattle, Luca Brasi, Endless Heights and Trophy Eyes.
