New Jersey-based alternative rock project Painted Young have announced the upcoming release of their new EP, “I’m Not Gonna Wait,” available on all digital platforms April 12th. Painted Young most recently released their single “The Madhouse,” which serves as the lead single off of their forthcoming EP. Project frontman Chris Santos is filled with a vivacious energy – but that doesn’t take away from his darker layers. “The Madhouse” digs into the usage of metaphors to express the frustration of being alone in your personal mental health issues. “I’m Not Gonna Wait” will continue to expand on their unique combination of pop punk, pop rock, and alternative influences. About the forthcoming EP, Santos states: |
This EP is very long overdue, and it feels good to be finally putting new music out there. For the fans that have stuck around since the beginning and through rebuilding, I’m sorry it took so long and thank you for being so patient. The songs on this EP are all based on personal experiences I’ve had. Whether the lyrics tend to be more direct (“Want your song? Here you go.”) or more metaphorical (“The Madhouse”), it’s all an extension of myself or something I’ve gone through. |
