ALEX THE ASTRONAUT is thrilled to release the video for ‘Already Home’ together with the announcement of her second Sydney show at The Newsagency in Enmore on Saturday 14 January(tickets on sale now). She also plays at Bar 303 in Melbourne on Friday 20 January.

‘Already Home’ was produced and recorded by Benjamin McCarthy (Kate Miller-Heidke, Gordi, Nyck) in Melbourne earlier this year and showcases Alex the Astronaut’s enviable song-writing ability: observant, sometimes prophetic lyrics – “there’s billionaires for president, and parking fines at hospitals” – drawn from personal experience, layered over clever melodies with sweeping strings, acoustic guitar and uplifting piano keeping you hooked in from the very first listen.

 

 

The video, shot in upstate New York and directed by Roland Ellis, shows Alex the Astronaut rolling the streets with her friends as she sings of the things people do just to make sure their loved ones are kept warm and safe. It even features a cameo from her puppy, Martin, too.
