The wondrous storyteller from Sydney ALEX THE ASTRONAUT has today released her brand new single ‘Rockstar City’ on all digital platforms through her label Minkowski Records. Premiered on triple j’s 2017 by Richard Kingsmill last night, ‘Rockstar City’ is the latest track from her forthcoming debut EP To Whom It May Concern, out Friday March 31.
‘Rockstar City’ was written after Alex the Astronaut played a show at The Bitter End, the legendary venue in Greenwich Village which has hosted countless iconic artists including Bob Dylan, Patti Smith, Chuck Berry, Carole King and Joni Mitchell over the years. On it she sings through the jelly-knee-nerves and excitement in the form of a letter to her Mum, whilst reflecting an endearing vulnerability that comes with playing in front of a new crowd.
