Now rolling into its 6th year, a festival called PANAMA today announces its 2019 lineup.

Since inception, the enigmatic Tasmanian event has built a cult following with the limited tickets selling out in minutes. 2018 saw PANAMA take the prize for ‘Boutique Festival of the Year’ at the inaugural TIO Awards and the tiny event is also shortlisted for ‘Festival of the Year’ alongside some of the giants of the Australian festival scene at the 2018 NLMAS.

The 2019 event sees Western Australian art-rock world beaters Methyl Ethel and Texan psych-soul three-piece Khruangbin headlining a bill of some of the year’s most talked about acts.

Joining them are internationals 19-year-old pitchfork darling Snail Mail and Californian garage-surf outfit Shannon & The Clams, while locally it’s an all-star affair with Baker Boy, Kaiit, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Mojo Juju, Kira Puru, Donny Benét, and RVG all set to play at the festival’s pristine forested site.

Special, starlit speakeasy sets are also planned for No Mono and Stella Donnelly at the festival’s intimate whisky bar – which are sure to be highlights of the weekend.
Boasting unbelievably tidy patrons (check out how much litter was left after the 2018 event here) as well as apple cider locally brewed on site, Tasmanian wine, craft beers, and locally distilled spirits, it’s little wonder PANAMA has built a reputation as one of the best events in the country.

Having introduced re-usable drinking cups last year (further reducing the event’s waste impact), the festival is continuing to evolve waste-free and will go cashless with a wristband paywave system in 2019.
Wallets are so passé.

The event’s super limited 1,500 tickets will go on sale to members of the PANAMA mailing list on November 13th, and remaining tickets to the public (if available) on November 20th.
