Reclink Australia is excited to announce national event dates for their much-loved annual fundraising event, the Reclink Community Cup. Inspired by Sly and the Family Stone’s 60’s classic, this year’s theme ‘Everyday People’ will see diversity and inclusion celebrated across the nation at local events in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Hobart, Fremantle and Canberra.

In Melbourne, the 24th annual Reclink Community Cup will return to Victoria Park in Abbotsford for the almighty clash of the Silver Jubilee Rockdogs(Musicians) and the Megahertz (Triple R 102.7FM & PBS 106.7FM) on Sunday June 24

Not just a day of footy, Reclink Community Cup organisers have once again nabbed some of Australia’s best musicians to perform for the masses pre and post match. This year’s incredible and diverse line-up includes indie-pop heroes Rudely Interrupted, revered punk-rock legends The Aints!, acclaimed post-punk trio Cable Ties, future soul pioneers Hiatus Kaiyote, hillbilly harmony quartet The Cartridge Family, and one of Australia’s most respected and inspiring Aboriginal singer/songwriters, Kutcha Edwards, who will perform this year’s theme song ‘Everyday People’.

The fun doesn’t stop in Melbourne though, line-ups for all other events will be announced soon.

Celebrated in seven cities, the Reclink Community Cup is now an annual pilgrimage for tens of thousands of passionate footy fans across Australia. A huge thanks to our hundreds of loyal volunteers, community radio stations Triple R and PBS, the Silver Jubilee Rockdogs, our sponsors and all those everyday people who are prepared to make a difference in promoting equality, diversity and inclusion for all.” says Reclink’s CEO, John Ballis.

Young Henrys are once again thrilled to support the Reclink Community Cup events as a sponsor; “This is Young Henrys’ fourth year with the Community Cup and we’re thrilled to be involved again; helping support the excellent work done by Reclink Australia. What’s not to love about an event that takes a bunch of legends from music and the media, pits them against each other in friendly rivalry in front of a cheering crowd, all while serving the people a few tins”, says Cleo Braithwaite, Young Henrys Events Coordinator.

As well as being a great excuse to celebrate Australia’s incredible music and media sectors, the Community Cup supports Reclink Australia’s work with disadvantaged communities across the country.

Reclink Australia delivers specialist sport, recreation and arts programs for at-risk youth, people with mental illness or disability, people experiencing homelessness and domestic violence, and those facing alcohol, gambling and substance addictions. From its inception back in 1993, the Melbourne event now rallies more than 10,000 avid followers who collectively raise over $200,000 every year for the cause.
