Following on from We Lost The Sea’s debut headline tour earlier this year and their Australian tour with Finnish classical-metal maestros, Apocalyptica, the six-piece today, announce a select few headline shows along the East Coast to mark an end of an era.
An era of Departure Songs. Their third full length album and first album since the loss of their lead singer and best friend, Chris Torpy. This tour will mark the final time We Lost The Sea play Departure Songs in its entirety in Australia and their last Australian shows before they depart on their debut European tour and begin the writing process for their next album.
If you’re not yet familiar with Departure Songs, it is an elevated and emotionally charged album, released in 2015 and written during a time of rare and uneasy rest, devoid of the constant adrenaline of performing live and the heartbreaking loss of Chris Torpy. It offered a new space for We Lost The Sea to reflect on all their previous experiences and cradle them, deciding not to replace their fallen brother, however to continue on in his name. Inspired by failed, yet epic journeys and events, Departure Songs is the band’s first wholly instrumental release – their most experimental and emotional, by far.
The sprawling sonic symphonies will procure with the addition of The Crooked Fiddle Band in both Sydney and Melbourne.
Tickets are on sale now via venue websites and after selling out numerous shows on their last Australian tour, you’d best not hesitate.
