THEM SHARKS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM

West coast dub-punk trio set to follow on from recent success with the release of their new album RETURN TO THE LOWER FOURTH DIMENSION on December 18

Perth’s Them Sharks’ fusion of reggae, roots and rock makes you feel the warmth of the sun on your back and taste the salt of the sea on your tongue.

But it’s not your typical, terminally chill, float away with the waves kind of surf rock though. Lurking just beneath the surface is a punk bite that crunches down when you least expect it, transforming tropical vibes into a raging whirlpool.

It’s a sound the three-piece, made up of vocalist/guitarist Joel Woolerson, Lindsay Spencer on bass, and drummer Walt ‘Salty’ Johnston, have perfectly captured on their invigoratingly upbeat new single ‘Tsoukalos’ the first release from the new album Return To The Lower Fourth Dimension, which is set to be released independently on December 18.

Working with regular collaborator James Newouse who produced and recorded the record at Real 2 Reel in Bunbury WA, Return To The Lower Fourth Dimension is Them Sharks’ most confident statement of their career, with ‘Tsoukalos’ already serving as a watershed moment for the group as their first song to score national airplay on triple j’s punk music program Short.Fast.Loud. last month.

The band is now poised to tease the album release with a run of shows this November, including a support slot on The Bennies Australian tour on
November 13.

Having already built a loyal local following, Return To The Lower Fourth Dimensionis set to be the record that introduces Them Sharks to a whole new school of fans.
