Melbourne’s slow-burn garage anthem experts are riding the smooth wave generated by their third LP ‘Soft Rock For the Anxious’. Today they’ve unveiled a thematically heavy video for ‘Sleeping in Water’.

The undeniable Australian-ness that shines through in The Pretty Littles’ sparkly brand of garage rock also dominates this slow-burning, fateful narrative video. Shades of haunting classic Australian cinema contrasts with the inherent singalong-ability of this melodic second single…

‘Soft Rock For The Anxious’ marks a step up in the songwriting stakes for The Pretty Littles. Released via Caroline Australia on a new deal last month, it’s snapped up truckloads of support from both triple j and community radio. Praised for its forthright soft-loud dynamic, hefty hooks and lo-fi likability, it’s seen the band popped in the same musical wheelhouse as Screamfeeder, Pavement, Pixies, and personal pals The Vasco Era. In short: this LP is a right pearler.

Following their national run with buddies The Delta Riggs, the Littles will pack the tour van and try these new tunes out live through October and November. The band advise, “if it’s your first time watching us live I’d make sure that you’re pretty pissed. Not recklessly so, but enough that your senses are a little skewed. I’d bring a few friends as well – someone to bounce ideas off.
