Armed with a new single, a short NSW tour and new management, The Owls are back! Born and bred in Newcastle, The Owls return with their new single, “Jesus Let Me Fly”
The Owls came out of their hiatus refreshed, revitalised and ready to record new material reflective of the psychological journeys of depression and anxiety that lead them to their break. They reconnected and continued their artistic relationship with producer Lachlan Mitchell (The Jezabels, The Vines).
Their new single “Jesus Let Me Fly”, is a musical amalgamation of 60’s garage rock and 90’s alternative rock, with influences from The Dandy Warhols and The Vines, to The Kinks pulsing throughout. While lyrically it deals with issues of mental health, growing up within a conservative town only to discover a significant lack of belonging within the mould and reality of the environment. These rock inspirations, together with pop sensibilities weaved throughout, by Lachlan Mitchell, places The Owls on the front foot for the remainder of 2017.
With a rejuvenated line-up, The Owls return stronger than ever to the stage and your ears as they are strengthened through a management deal with Sydney-based arts and music agency FOSTERED and set into action their forthcoming EP release.
