Perth band The Money War reveals the music video for ‘Recall’, a quirky black and white animation that perfectly compliments the track.
The video was created by LA based artist Michael Rollins, whose work the band found on Instagram and loved so much that they asked him to collaborate. The video contains almost a thousand hand drawings, compiled to tell a compelling tale!
‘Recall’ was produced by Dylan, who explains that the song was written while he and Carmen were travelling in America. He says, ‘Recall is about being tired of repetition. When we went travelling in the US I remembered all of the things I love about Perth, I just needed a change to remind me. It kind of felt like another part of the soundtrack of the road trip, written during a writing burst where I wrote 5 songs in a day. I wanted the sound to be that overblown production style, juxtaposed with beautiful melodies – I wanted the track to be dramatic and move through different moods’.
The Money War is currently on tour with Dope Lemon and was nominated for ‘Most Popular New Act’ at last weekend’s WAM awards, where they performed live.
