Indiana’s (USA) own The Ataris return to Australia for their first headlining tour in seven years with recently announced special guests Columbus across all dates, and now announcing the local opening supports.
Having recently finished recording their album due for release later this year, Brisbane five-piece We Set Sail will open at The Triffid on June 3, whilst Sydney indie-rockers Sweater Season kick things off at the Metro Theatre on June 5.
Melbourne five-piece Strickland will open at 170 Russell on June 7 with their blend of alternative indie, pop-rock and 90s emo, Adelaide punk-rockers Dead Joe will open at Fowlers Live on June 9, whilstDan Cribb & The Isolated will open the Ataris final Australian show of the tour on June 12 at Amplifier Bar.
With the addition of these local openers, Columbus and with The Ataris belting out fan favourites from their second album “Blue Skies, Broken Hearts…Next 12 Exits” and the 2003 LP “So Long Astoria”, this is a tour you’re not going to want to wait another seven years for.
