The ever colourful, always wonderful Newtown Festival returns in 2019 for its 41st year, inviting the community to immerse themselves in a day full of musicarttalksworkshopsfoodfour-legged friends and fun.  As a key fundraiser for the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre (NNC), the Festival will fill Camperdown Memorial Rest Park with all your favourite elements of the Inner West on Sunday 10 November from 9:30AM – 5:30PM.

Produced by NNC, the Festival generates funds and awareness to enable the Centre to provide frontline services for those doing it most tough in the Inner West, thanks to generous donations from the community. It’s a day to honour Newtown’s vibrant, unique and accepting community whilst supporting individuals who need a bit of help.

Newtown Festival is made by the people, for the people and strives to be the biggest and best festival for social change in Australia. NNC’s CEO Liz Yeo said; “Newtown Festival truly is a Festival “by the people, for the people”. If it was not for our talented local musicians who perform for free, our local artisans and restaurants who take part, our generous sponsors, and the tens of thousands of community members who come faithfully every year to be part of the unique Newtown festival vibe, we would not be able to continue to provide the services we do for those people who are doing it most tough. We never take this support for granted.”

Newtown Festival is also committed to being a green and sustainable event and you can find out how we aim to increase environmental awareness and sustainability measures here.

ENTRY CONTRIBUTION
Last year, over 40,000 people came to Newtown Festival, with many digging deep to support NNC at the gates and throughout the day.

An expected contribution of $5.00+ at the entry gates means you get a huge day of multifaceted entertainment with over 215 performers across multiple tents and stages, 50+ food and drink vendors, and over 200 market stalls to peruse. You can also learn handy life hints from the Eco Village, entertain the young ones in Kids Zone and immerse yourself in inspiring talks and numerous workshops.

The Festival’s performers and artists, the Writer’s Tent team, Dog Show team and our incredible volunteers donate their time for the cause. All contributions received through Newtown Festival go directly to the Centre and the people, programs and services it provides, so please give generously!
