Six years since their last Australian tour, seminal rockers PIXIES return to Australia in March 2017 as part of their Head Carrier world tour.
One of the most influential and important bands over the last 30 years, Pixies headlined 2007’s inaugural Australian V Festival and in 2010 played an incredible 13 shows on their sold-out Doolittle tour across the country.
Pixies will kick off their 2017 Australian tour at Brisbane’s Riverstage on March 2, followed by Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena on March 4 and Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on March 7.
Tickets for all shows will go on sale at 10am Friday, September 2.
Telstra Thanks is bringing an exciting 48-hour pre-sale just for Telstra customers from 11am Tuesday, August 30 until 11am Thursday, September 1. For more information on how to purchase, visit:telstra.com/music.

Touring the east coast in celebration of their forthcoming album, Head Carrier, the tour sees vocalist/guitarist Black Francis, drummer David Lovering and guitarist Joey Santiago welcome bassist Paz Lenchatin to the Pixies’ permanent line-up.
Lenchantin has been the band’s touring bassist since January 2014 and played an integral part in the recording of Head Carrier (out September 30 through Pixiesmusic/Play It Again Sam). Her cool and dreamy soprano can be heard singing lead on the track ‘All I Think About Now’.
“Paz is a joy to be around,” said Lovering. “She’s very funny, and we’re having more fun than we’ve ever had as a band, we all have a blast together, on and off stage.”
Set lists from recent UK shows have soared between the old and new, from their 1987 debut to tracks from the forthcoming album.
