Auckland pop punk wonders The Beths today announce that they’ve signed to Dew Process records and to celebrate that announcement have released the gorgeous new single and title track from their forthcoming debut album, Future Me Hates Me – out August 10 via Dew Process in Australia and Carpark Records in the rest of the world.

Boasting brilliant pop sensibilities, searing riffs, and a kind of off-kilter nature to their songwriting that is excitingly unique and really draws you into the songs, The Beths are one of the most exhilarating acts to emerge from NZ in recent years.

That’s immediately apparent upon listening to the opening burst of chords on ‘Future Me Hates Me.’Band leader Liz Stokes’ witty lyricism tightrope walks across fuzzy guitar lines as she explains all the ways she’s tried to resist falling in love, before the collective, effervescent energy of the band as a whole – Jonathan Pearce (Guitar and Vocals), Benjamin Sinclair (Bass and Vocals) & Ivan Luketina-Johnston (Drums and Vocals) – comes to the party and Stokes finally admits that despite her best efforts, “there’s something about you… I want to risk going through.”

The band are currently in the midst of a whirlwind tour of the Northern Hemisphere, but in the meantime, we implore you to fall in love with their new video.
